The Jason Thomas Senior Dance Company
Under the artistic directorship of Jason Thomas, the senior and intermediate companies are for students with the technical ability and passion for dance who wish to excel within the dance profession.
Our contemporary technical practitioner and choreographer, Sapphire Sumpter, specialises in the "Release Technique" and "Graham and Cunningham".
The Jazz technical practitioner and choreographer is Ben Di'ath He specialises in "Isolation" and the "Matt Mattox Technique", the students also stretch and will develop muscle control. Ben teaches challenging high-powered dance routines in Street, Commercial and Musical Theatre styles. The company performs, on average, twice a term; venues include The Hall for Cornwall and Sadler's Wells Theatre in London. The dance companies also participate in works shops regularly, including Rambert Dance Company and Breaking Conventions.
Jason Thomas Junior Dance Company
The company was designed for students aged 8-12 years. The focus on this company is for children that really want to dance and want to take it to another level. Their two dance genres are ballet (non- syllabus) and contemporary. The company perform every term locally and nationally. Altogether, each dancer develops a good, all- round dance base in each skill/genre, and our performance repertoire is multi-disciplined, ensuring audiences are amazed by the diversity of skills and talent of our company members.
Members of the company are now at the Royal Ballet School, The Hammond School, Arts Educational Tring Park, Elmhurst and are associate members of the Royal Ballet School and Elmhurst School.
The ballet class is taught by Kathryn Charlesworth and the contemporary class by Sapphire Sumpter.
